2. Subscribe to a Plan
NamesGem charges a simple subscription rather than a percentage of your sale:
- Standard: $15/month or $100/year, unlimited listings
- Featured: $25/month or $180/year, unlimited listings plus homepage placement
Your listings go live as soon as your subscription is active.
3. Receive and Respond to Offers
When buyers are interested in your domain or website:
- You'll receive notifications of new offers or inquiries
- Communicate with potential buyers through our secure messaging system
- Accept, reject, or counter offers as they come in
- All communication is tracked for transparency and security
4. Complete the Transaction
Once you accept an offer, the transaction process begins:
- The buyer makes payment to Escrow.com (not directly to you)
- You'll receive notification when funds are secured
- You transfer the domain or website to the buyer following the provided instructions
- The buyer verifies receipt and confirms everything is as described
- Escrow.com releases the payment to you
This secure process protects both you and the buyer throughout the transaction.
For Buyers

2. Research and Evaluate
Before making an offer, thoroughly research the domain or website:
- Review all provided information, including traffic and revenue data for websites
- Check domain history and age
- Verify SEO metrics and backlink profiles
- Ask the seller questions through our secure messaging system

3. Make an Offer
When you're ready to purchase:
- Submit an offer through the listing page
- Include any specific terms or questions with your offer
- The seller will receive notification of your offer
- Negotiate with the seller if needed
4. Complete the Transaction
Once your offer is accepted, the secure transaction process begins:
- You'll make payment to Escrow.com (not directly to the seller)
- Escrow.com secures your funds while the seller transfers the domain or website to you
- You'll verify receipt and confirm everything is as described
- Once you approve, Escrow.com releases the payment to the seller
This secure process ensures you only pay when you've received exactly what you purchased.
The Escrow.com Process
NamesGem does not have a direct account or API connection with Escrow.com, and we don't process or hold any part of your transaction. We simply connect buyers and sellers through listings; once you've agreed on a deal, we recommend completing it on escrow.com, entirely outside of our website. Here's how that process typically works:

Escrow.com Transaction Fees
Escrow.com charges a fee based on the transaction amount. These fees are typically:
- For transactions up to $5,000: 3.25% (minimum $32.50)
- For transactions $5,000.01 to $25,000: 2.00%
- For transactions $25,000.01 to $100,000: 1.45%
- For transactions over $100,000: 0.89%
Fees are typically paid by the buyer but can be split between buyer and seller by agreement. Escrow.com determines and displays the exact fee on its own site, since this step happens entirely off NamesGem.
Frequently Asked Questions
A typical domain transaction through Escrow.com takes 7-10 days from start to finish. Website transfers may take longer depending on complexity. The process includes payment verification (1-2 days), domain/website transfer (3-5 days), and buyer verification (1-3 days).
For your NamesGem subscription, we accept credit cards and PayPal. For domain and website purchases completed directly on Escrow.com, its accepted payment methods include wire transfer, credit card (for transactions under $10,000), PayPal (for transactions under $10,000), and ACH (US bank accounts only).
If any issues arise during the transaction, both Escrow.com and NamesGem provide support. Escrow.com has a dispute resolution process for transaction-related issues. NamesGem's support team can assist with platform-specific questions and general guidance throughout the process.
No, domains must be fully registered and under your control to be listed on NamesGem. Domains in redemption period, pending delete status, or with other registration issues cannot be listed until those issues are resolved.
When selling a website, include as much information as possible: traffic statistics, revenue data, profit and loss statements, content details, technology stack, hosting information, social media accounts, and any other assets included in the sale. The more comprehensive your listing, the more likely you are to attract serious buyers.
